Jess

Jess has been tattooing for 8 years, beginning her apprenticeship locally in Carlisle in 2016. With a background rooted in creativity, she has always enjoyed painting and drawing at home, developing her artistic skills through personal projects and hobbies. She specializes in fine line work, with a particular love for gothic concepts. 

 

Jess draws inspiration from many Korean tattoo artists, as well as artists like Allen Hart for fine line florals and Nic Smith, whose blend of traditional concepts with a modern twist resonates with her style.

 

Her approach is centered around taking relevant information and reference material from clients, then developing her own unique design from scratch. She prides herself on drawing everything freehand. Due to her skills as an artist and comfort in her style, Jess is very flexible with making changes on the day; ensuring she fully understands and delivers exactly what the client wants. 

 

Jess is driven by self-improvement, often comparing her work to other artists to push herself further, and regularly visits museums to appreciate different forms of art and stay inspired. She sees tattooing as a true art form and is constantly striving to refine her craft. What she enjoys most is being part of something meaningful as many of her tattoos are created in memory of loved ones, and she finds it incredibly rewarding to contribute to such personal stories while also gaining validation from happy clients.
